With the legislation in place surrounding predictive dialers calling cell phones, can anyone share with this forum how they are handling contacting customers where the only point of contact is a cell phone?

accmosaix,

Since predictive dialing cannot be used, we are using managed dialer jobs to contact cell phone only customers. It seems to be working well. It has taken human intervention out of the dialing and has heightened call efficiency with these accounts.

All,

We have implemented the managed dialing campaigns on our accounts with cell phones only. Our risk management department is requiring an infinite preview time however.

What strategy are you using to identify land vs cell phone numbers from your host systems?

We subscribe to a service from the Direct Marketing Association (www.ims-dm.com) that provides two files. 1) a landline to wireless list that is updated daily 2) a wireless blocks file that is updated bi-monthly. The subscription runs about $2000 per year. We import the text files in SQL tables and bounce our dialer files against them to identify if it is a cell or land line. We use a single digit of FILLER space for each phone field in each dialer file (C = cell, L = land, B or T = bad phone). This enables us to channel all the cell phone only accounts in a specific stage to be called in managed mode, rather than predictive.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss further.

We have taken the same approach with the supscription based list of cell phone and land line phone numbers. These are imported into a table, then our calling lists are filtered and sent to the appropriate jobs based on those results.
